The Capital Region Food Program depends on the generosity of individuals, families, and organizations who believe that no one should face hunger alone. Whether you give today or plan for the future, every gift strengthens our ability to provide food security for thousands of citizens across the Capital Region.
Giving Today
Your support today provides immediate relief to families facing food insecurity, delivering food and hope when it’s needed most.
One-Time Gifts
A one-time gift is the simplest way to make an immediate difference. Your donation goes directly to providing meals and support for families, seniors, and individuals in need across our region. Gifts may also be made in honor or in memory of someone special, creating a meaningful tribute while addressing urgent food insecurity.
Did you know? Many companies will match your contribution, doubling or even tripling the impact of your gift. Learn more.
Sustaining Gift
A sustaining gift is recurring monthly donation which creates steady and reliable support for CRFP. Consistent contributions allow us to plan for the year ahead and respond quickly to rising needs.
For some, recurring giving also allows donors to spread their generosity over time in a way that fits their budget. Many recurring donors find that small, regular gifts add up to extraordinary impact. Just $10 a month can sustain food for dozens of neighbors throughout the year
Matching & Workplace Gifts
Matching gifts are one of the most overlooked yet powerful ways to maximize giving to CRFP and other organizations you care about. Employers large and small often match charitable contributions made by their employees, and some extend these benefits to retirees or spouses.
Checking with your HR or benefits department is an easy way to double or triple the difference you make feeding individuals and families in the Greater Concord Area.
Donor-Advised Funds
A Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) is like a charitable savings account managed by a financial institution or community foundation. Donors contribute to their fund, receive immediate tax benefits, and then recommend grants to organizations like CRFP over time.
Giving through a DAF is a flexible, strategic way to support hunger relief. CRFP is experienced in accepting DAF gifts and can work with you and your fund administrator. Please email us for more information.
Gifts of Stock
Donating appreciated securities—such as stocks, bonds, or mutual funds—can be a highly tax-efficient way to give. By transferring stock directly to CRFP, donors may avoid capital gains taxes while also receiving a charitable deduction for the full fair market value.
These gifts often allow donors to make a larger impact than they might through cash alone, while aligning their charitable giving with their investment strategy.

IRA’s and QCD’s
If you are age 70½ or older, you may make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) directly from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA) to CRFP. For tax year 2025, the QCD limit is $108,000 per person. A QCD can also count toward your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), helping you manage taxable income while providing essential food resources for your neighbors.
We recommend consulting with your financial/tax advisor each year to verify the limits and rules applicable to your situation.
If you’re interested in making a Qualified Charitable Distribution, please email us for specific instructions on how to initiate your gift.
Giving for the Future
By planning a legacy gift, you ensure that the Capital Region Food Program can continue fighting hunger for generations to come.
Beneficiary Designations
Naming CRFP as a beneficiary on a retirement plan, bank account, or brokerage account is one of the simplest ways to create a legacy of generosity. With just a few minutes of paperwork, you can ensure that a portion of your assets will support hunger relief long into the future.
Beneficiary gifts bypass probate and may provide tax advantages for your estate, making them a flexible and impactful way to extend your values beyond your lifetime.

Life Insurance
Life insurance can also be a powerful charitable tool. By naming CRFP as a beneficiary, you can create a significant legacy gift often at a relatively modest cost during your lifetime.
This option can be especially meaningful for donors who want to make a larger future gift than current resources allow, ensuring ongoing support for CRFP’s mission for years to come.

By including the Capital Region Food Program in your will or trust, you ensure that your commitment to reducing hunger continues well into the future. These gifts can be as simple as naming CRFP for a fixed dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, or the remainder after other provisions are met.
Most importantly, your gift will sustain CRFP’s mission for generations to come, ensuring that families, seniors, and children will have access to food when they need it most.
